    Local History/Genealogy (LHG) is a research department specializing in the history of Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York State, the New England States, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Librarians and materials are available to help answer a wide range of information needs from family history and genealogy to in-depth research on people, places and events in the Syracuse area.
    When visiting LHG be sure to have a valid Onondaga County Public Library (OCPL) card.  Nonresident OCPL cards may be obtained at the Service Desk on the 1st floor.
  • Onondaga Historical Association (OHA)

    Home to over 1 million items such as of photographs, maps, newspaper articles, letters, and postcards OHA’s Research Center allows visitors to learn more about Onondaga County’s history through an engaging, hands on experience.
    Entrance Fees: Free for members, $7 for general public and $4 for students (school ID required) - All must show photo ID
